Most of the people will do video card overclocking using PowerStrip. It is the best tool to overclock video card, however, it is not free(US$29.95).

If your video card is NVIDIA chipset(all TNT, Geforce series) then here is a simple and FREE way to overclock your video card. :)

Actually NVIDIA graphic driver has overclocking function, but it is hidden as default. The methods here is open the hidden function to allow us overclock the frequencie of graphic card’s GPU and memory.

  1. Download and install latest graphics driver from NVIDIA Downloads
  2. Download and apply registry key setting, we call it “coolbit”.
If you are using Windows9x/ME, get this file. Windows 2000/XP users, get this file.
When you apply the registry key, MS Windows will ask for your confirmation. Click “OK” to apply it.
  3. Done! Now you will see a new “Clock Frequencies” item in driver settings. (see screenshot below)
