Grand Challenge is a challenge for autonomous ground vehicles between Los Angeles and Las Vegas in March of 2004.
Result?
NONE of the self-guided machines got even eight miles down the planned 142-mile off-road course from Barstow in the Southern California desert to this casino resort town along Interstate 15 just across the state line.

Thought:
Frankly, the result does surprised me. None of the challenger completed 6% of the path, that’s bad. Hopefully at least one team can complete 50% at coming year challenge.
