New ZoneAlarm 5.0 With AntiVirus

The well known firewall software – ZoneAlarm made a major upgrade of its software version from 4.0 to 5.0. Also, it released ZoneAlarm with Antivirus. Yes, the firewall will scan for virus now. :)

Here is comparison of different ZoneAlarm products. ZoneAlarm with Antivirus cost US$$19.95(~RM75.81), while ZoneAlarm(with basic firewall features) is still available for FREE.

Thought:
Basically the ZoneAlarm 5.0 freeware version still works the same. A bit changes in user interface design. A bit more hard sales of Zone Labs’ other products.

Combination of antivirus + firewall is not something new. Both Symantec and McAfee have bundled their popular antivirus with firewall for some time. I am waiting for the first 3-In-1 security software(Antivirus + Firewall + Anti Spyware). :)

Firewall is a MUST nowadays, as long as your PC connects to Internet. Get one for Free now!

    antivirus already, so those looking for
    firewall generally wouldn't need the paid
    version of zone alarm...

    zonealarm am I still protected from virus etc. If not what is
    a free antivirus that works with zonealarm or do I get rid of

  • Mark: Zonealarm is a software firewall, it protects your from hack attemps.
    You still need a antivirus to protect you from virus. I recommend AVG Anti-Virus FREE edition.
    We need both Firewall and Antivirus to protect our PC. :smile:
