Note:
This is not a post to tell you how to get Gmail account.

As we know, Gmail does not support POP/SMTP access(yet?). Therefore, you cannot download or send email from your favourite email client(example: Outlook Express, Eudora, Thunderbird, etc). That is bad if you want to keep email copies on your PC or you want to use your email client to read emails.

Here I found a tool to download Gmail emails – Pop Goes the Gmail!

Pop Goes the Gmail(PGtGM) is a program that sits between the http://gmail.com web server and your email client, converting messages from web format into POP3 format that a program such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird can understand.

PGtGM works with any windows email client that support POP/SMTP. I have tried and it works great!

Bonus:
Okay, here are freewares that download emails from your Hotmail and Yahoo! mail accounts.

For Hotmail: Hotmail Popper
For Yahoo! Mail: YPOPs!
