Error 5: Access is denied

hx sms me to ask about a remote connection denied problem after she has upgraded Windows XP Home to Windows XP Professional.
I found the solution from Microsoft Knowledge Base Article, which titled “You cannot create a network connection after you restore Windows XP“
Problem:
Internet/Network connection(s) failed. Cannot create new network connection. Could not start Remote Access Connection Manager service.
Cause:
- You install Windows XP SP1, and then use the System Restore feature to restore Windows to a state before the installation of the service pack.
- You install Windows XP SP1 when Windows XP Home is installed, and then you upgrade to Windows XP Professional.
Solution:
Reinstall Windows XP SP1.

Remember to run Microsoft Windows Update after installed Windows XP SP1, to install other latest system patches.
