Google: Cannot Sell Gmail!

The newly updated Gmail Program Policies stated that user may not:

  • Sell, trade, resell or otherwise exploit for any unauthorized commercial purpose or transfer any Gmail account
  • Modify, adapt, translate, or reverse engineer any portion of the Gmail Service

Thought:
So, it means we can only trade Gmail invitation in underground. *ahem* :P It also means that the Gmail tools like Gmail as online backup system, POP Access to Gmail are ILLEGAL now?! :sad:

  • google keeps giving u so many Gmail accounts...did they think u will
    use it all yourself? according to the new rules, (not laws) u cannot
    transfer them.
  • No, the new policy means you cannot exchange or sell the Gmail account. You still can send invitation to your friends. Since the new policy takes effect, I do not sell or exchange Gmail anymore. :)
  • its a shame really that they wont allow modification or
    adaptation, like the pop access,etc. you do know it is a
    marketting ploy ,giving to a select few (people like u who are
    nodes of contact and influence - have u read tipping point by
    M. Gladwell? ) creating a scarcity and a demand? do u personally
    find the Gmail useful? would u drop all the rest and use Gmail
    only?
  • My primary email still the own domain email, has both web and pop access. I use Gmail for forwarded mails and other not important stuff.
