Install Shockwave Player for Standalone Firefox

I am using optimized Firefox build by Moox. It gives very much performance improvement above official builds. The optimized build is standalone Firefox. No installation required, only extract to a folder and run.

However, there is a problem with standalone build. The installer of Macromedia Shockwave Player could not find the browser installation folder to copy library file into plugin folder. Therefore, the plugin does not work.

Here is the solution:

Download and install Macromedia Shockwave Player
Download(LiewCF.com) Shockwave Player plugin library and unzip it.
*I pull the plugin library from shockwave player installation
In the zip file are “np32dsw.dll” and readme.txt files. Copy “np32dsw.dll” into your Firefox plugin folder.
Example:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla\Firefox\Plugin
Done!
To test your installation, visit Macromedia Shockwave trigger page. You should see “Installation Complete.” shockwave movie.

Note:
For user who install Firefox using official build, the Macromedia Shockwave player installation will detect your Firefox plugin folder.

What do you mean by:

(Is there a separate action to be taken - other than waht follows?)

Barry H, it is not a separate action to be taken. I mean the zip file download in Step2 is extracted from my shockwave player installation. Just ignore that line. :)

whenever i try the link it just says "connection was refused when attempting to contact sdc.shockwave.com"

The reason SW, Flash, Java, and all the other installers do not recognize independent 3rd party builds of Firefox is because we do not use installers (for the most part) so no registry settings are made telling the plugin installers that our builds even exist. You have legal two options. What you propossed above is illegal - Macromedia does not allow redistribution of 'components' of their plugins. You can install an official build, which sets the registry entries, and then unzip one of my builds on top of it or you can install one of my builds normally and then patch your registry as so that their are entries for the build.
