Updated: Gawab Cut Free Space, Add POP Support

No more 2GB email space from Gawab as I mentioned yesterday. I just went to the website and found that the free webmail package had changed:-

Gawab new email packages

Bad news:

  • 50% webspace less, now only 1001MB (1MB more than other Gigabyte free mail…, which made it STILL the largest free webmail ;) ) .
  • Attachment size reduced to 10MB, instead of previous 50MB.

Good News:

  • New free mail package with POP/SMTP support (but only 15MB). Good for those like to read mails from their email client and download emails to PC.

Thought:
Though Gawab cut 2GB to 1GB, but it provide another alternative. The POP/SMTP email package is attactive to many people. With POP access, we can download the emails to our PC and read them using our favourite email client (e.g.: ThunderBird, Outlook, etc)

Hmm… I am waiting for 1GB email with POP access. :mrgreen:

    erm just a quick comment, it is 2GB and POP is supported -- and its free ^_^

    Your friend(and mine) is registerd BEFORE Gawab cut the 2GB to 1GB. Your Gawab account is registered AFTER the space cut. That's why you get only 1GB.

    There is NO WAY to update your account to 2GB.

    @Nizan Shah: as I said in post, no 2GB from Gawab.com. However, you can register a new account to get another 1GB. ;)

    Also, I'm waiting until gawab cuts to 500 MB, then to 250 so on and so fourth until they have half a byte!
  • well, gmail allow you to reach 1023MB, which is the real 1GB.
