Yup, my home 384kbps line has already been upgraded to 512kbps.

I'm still using dial up too. Currently thinking of getting streamyx, though I don't know if they have it here at my place. And there is still the little problem of setting up the network at home so that everyone else can use it as well. Looks like I'll still be using dial up for sometime :P

AAArrrrggghhhh at leastpeople in the Peninsular has access to Stremyx. Here I've been waiting in Kota Kinabalu for ages and there always the case of them asking me to patiently wait as they check the lines and the answer is always the same that mine is a fiber line so it cannot be done. The housing here is full of students that would love to get their hands on a speedier line but no!!!! Can't live any longer with 26.4k connection!!!! hack hack

Mine already being upgraded from 384 to 512. But the problem is that download
is turbo but upload is tortoise. Uploading is really slow. Supposed to be 128 rite but mine is lke 2k only. Darn streamyx.

It is 128 KiloBITS, which is about 16 KBytes. Your download speed is turbo, the upload should be fine too. Try to upload files to Tmnet FTP server(ftp.tm.net.my) to test your upload speed.

Sometimes, slow upload speed may caused by the server side. Alternatively, you can goto http://testmy.net/ to test your broadband download/upload speed.

I've the same problem too with uploading. D/l is fine. Nothing to do with my web server being busy.
A 200 kb file takes 3 seconds to upload from my office. In my home using streamyx, it takes 10 minutes. And usually times out. Problem started after useless line upgrades.

You are right..They should have Unlimited Dial-Up...I have to agree with you...Honestly , TmNet cannot even provide Streamyx in Klang Valley...Listen to my story , first they said , got streamyx at my place (Very happylah , 9 years of dial-up) , then the contractor said , "Got Port but No Signal"...Hmm , so no Streamyx for me ...Whats wronglah with Telekom ?

hi guys..i want to upgrade from 512kb to 1mb..but there is something i wish to know...

1: i already got DSL modem when i first apply for the package RM66. When i upgrade to 1mb,do i need to change my modem??...or i can use the old modem...because if i need to change the modem, upgrade package would be RM99...instead of RM88 per month without modem package..that is a lot of different!!

2: if i don't need to change my modem...is there need to do some setting with my modem?

3: after i apply online how long does it take for my new upgrade package to be approved and fully functional??

4: is there any additional fee after the upgrade process is being approved or forwarded bill to my account??

i just subscribed 512kbps unlimited access, so do i get enjoying the free upgrade from 512kbps to 1mb immediately? currently the line is slow with total 50kbps downloading only, i want to ask, is 512kbps happened to download such rate?

@kam kuan: it was an old news. current 512kbps still get 512kbps. Do you mean 50Kilobytes per second? It is normal speed for a 512kbps line

512kbps means 512kilobits/second. 1 byte = 8bits.

@LCF: if it is old news then does it mean currently there is no free upgrade. yes! my downloading rate is 50 kilobytes per second, it can't be up to 70 kilobytes per second. if it is 1mbps package, would it be 100 kilobytes per second? currently, i'm using streamyx in hometown, ipoh. thank you for clarifying me.

@kam kuan: so far, there is no free upgrade promotion for streamyx. I consider 50KB/s download speed on 512kbps line is normal, because we need to calculate the overheads.

1Mbps package can probably get 100 kilobytes per second.

is there any solution to make the downloading becomes faster other than changing plan because i've asked to change into 1mb package but couldn't be done because it has contract signed.
