No Phone Line, Blogging in CyberCafe

Filed in: Life Log — November 1st, 2004

For your information, I am leaving KL and back to hometown(Kluang) for my new job. I applied to terminate my phone line in KL last Saturday and got it cut today. So, no phone line, no Internet.

Don’t need to worry about Internet access. There are a few CyberCafe nearby. Each hour for only RM2 and get high download speed, big monitor(Oh! My 15″ monitor is really small!).

In fact, I seldom goto CyberCafe. First, I don’t play games. Second, I dislike people beside me when I am using computer(you know, privacy). Thirdly, I dislike dark room. I wonder why every CyberCafe need to be dark?! Lastly, I dislike noisy place. Really cannot tahan(stand) the games sound wave!

For my security concern, I brought my pendrive, with Firefox & Thunderbird build-in, to the CyberCafe. Unfortunately, it’s Windows XP gave me “Illegal Operation” when I try to load Firefox and Thunderbird. *sigh*

Found that the Internet Explorer is haunted by unknown toolbars, I don’t dare to take the risk to reveal my browsing habits. I launched http://www.GetFirefox.com and installed it. Feel safer with the Fox.

Thought:
Accept it or not, CyberCafe is equals to Gaming Centre. I wish to have a Cyber Cafe with good, quiet and comfortable, environment.

  • Time dotCom service centres have internet cafe facilities and they're not like game centres. Although you'd have to pay more than RM2 (I think it's RM7 but not sure). It's clean, not very bright but not as gloomy as the usual cafes and usually not many gamers.
