Sony PSP – Portable Gaming

To call the PSP one of the most attractive handheld electronic devices ever made would be no exaggeration. The black-and-silver casing, with its translucent buttons and glossy finish, is a thing of beauty (although a magnet for thumb prints). The entire unit is 6.9 inches wide by 2.9 inches long by 0.9 inches tall, and weighs a slight 9.9 ounces.

A powerful gaming machine is packed into that small form factor. Inside, a 333-MHz CPU with 32 MB of RAM and 4 MB of embedded DRAM produces an audiovisual experience that rivals that of the PlayStation 2 home console, with detailed 3-D graphics and CD-quality background music. All this is rendered on a giant 4.3-inch wide-screen display with three different levels of backlit luminance.

Thought:
The portable device that allow you to PLAY(games), VIEW(photos), WATCH(video) and LISTEN(music). Only US$190(~RM722) .

Considering the popular iPod is over RM1000 for music listening, I will prefer Sony PSP because its multimedia functions and I do not need big storage space like iPod for music(PSP need to use memory card for storage).

Well, I do not have any plan to get either of them yet.

Nice package, nice screen, nice hardware, HORRIBLE storage/media solutions. Instead of that asinine SD card and UMD it should have had a hard drive built-in. Then, instead of lugging around packages of UMD discs and paying through the nose for SD cards, you could have just downloaded the games and media onto the hard drive. But hey, it'll be fun paying TWICE for your movies, right? Once on DVD, once on UMD. Whoopee.

Battery life will be an issue that game makers will try to address by requiring the use of larger memory sticks in addition to the umd game
