More and MORE and MORE Gmail Invitations!!!

invite friends to gmail “What!? Is it truth?! It is 50 Gmail invitations!”

I noticed the Gmail replaced the Gmail invitation link with a form, it is easier to send invitation to friends now. But I still get only 4 invitations in my Gmail accounts.

Just now I login a secondary Gmail account, see the same box but the invitations number already increased to 50!!!

The generous AhKiong emailed me yesterday to tell me that he got many Gmail invitations and ask me to forward those Gmail requests to him. I was wondering, “How come he got so MANY invitations in single account?!”

Now I see (after I forwarded more than 30 Gmail requests to him…).

If you haven’t get a Gmail account, feel free to send your request to the following email address:

I will put you in the request queue. As long as I have Gmail invitations, I will send them to those in the list. If possible, please state that how you found my site — LiewCF.com and the reason to get a Gmail account.

Thought:
Each account have 50 invitations, that’s too many! Is this Chinese New Year gift from Google? Google feels that too few are using Gmail? Or, Google doesn’t want people illegally selling Gmail invitations? (Found alot in Ebay.com.my)

Maybe I am too suspicious but I smell something from Google generous move on Gmail invitations…

Anyway, I enjoy Gmail very much!

Forget about this useless Gmail account. They would not allow you to send attachement with zip executable file or even a vido clip (1.34MB)! whereas Hotmail do a scan and send them for you.

50? sure? unbelieavable!!

after reading this, i went to check my gmail (which i rarely check as i rarely use it), and surprisingly, see no invitations at all! prior to that, at my last check... maybe 10 days ago... i notice i did have 6 inviations left after giving out 4. but why now all of a sudden, the 6 also disappear.

strange. what gives eh, gmail?

After reading your entry, I checked my gmail account and to my surprise, I have 50 invites too! I used to have only 4 but now 50!

Wow... how could it be? My friend has got the same one too. But I havent got the 50 invitations. hohoho cos I still have left over 3 and 5 for two accounts. And coincidently we are posting almost same stuff. :p

Wow! I have been a GMail user for several months now and I have only ever gotten the few invitations that trickle in every month or so.
Initially 6 after the first month, then 4 more 2/3 months later, then maybe 4 or 6 more a few months after that, but 50!
I currently have 4 invitations outstanding.
My wife, whom I invited little more than a month ago, got her first 4 last week or so. BUT TONIGHT, SHE LOGS IN AND SHE NOW HAS FIFTY!!!! (50!!!)
My jaw dropped.

You would think Google would publish some sort of explanation to go along with this. Maybe they are just trying to create some buzz? Who knows.

I will be generously helping her to dole these out to friends who want them.

uhm..i dont see where the fuss is. Gmail was launched as a beta testing and as time goes, development process progresses - bugs fixed - and when google think gmail is near ready for official launch, it will gradually increase the number of invitaitons existing memeber can give out to promote the service and also more testing since larger base of users will increase the chances of a hidden bug being found. This is a software developement cycle. Sooner or later gmail can be signed up by everyone like hotmail once Google felt that testing process is adequate to take it live.
