Freeware to Reveal Hidden Password

Warning: Stealing password is a crime!

There are some cases that we forgot the passwords previously saved in the software or website, yet we need to get the password urgently! The password field shows only “********”, without any password hints or help! What do you do?

Don’t knock your head against the wall. Here I introduce two freeware that help you to recover the masked password.

Asterisk Key can reveal hidden passwords on password dialog boxes and web pages. Launch Asterisk Key, and it will scan active window for password dialog box and show the hidden password. Work best for web pages.

Password Reveal

Password Reveal works for windows program, not web pages. Simply drag and drop the cross sign to the password dialog box, it will show the masked password.

Please use these tools wisely. I only use them only to recover the passwords that previously saved(and does not write down anywhere) by company’s ex-IT executive.

that's why I stick to only 2 variation of password so that I won't forget easily and also other people won't be able to guessed it. ;)

i dun get why u put the "Warning: Stealing password is a crime!". this tool doesn't help crac password in anyway unless somebody is dumb enough to leave their password prompt open while they had cofeee. Aaaah, coffee.......

ermmm any tips on how to crack open a winzip password?
i mistakenly put a password on my data file and i cant remember the password now :(

@guy: Zip file password is not as easy to recover as masked password...
You can use PicoZip Recovery Tool.

If you can roughly remember the password format(integer, a-Z and length) then can save alot of time. Else, you may take few days to few YEARS to recover the password. Good luck!

^ i thought u can just bruteforce the zip password. doesn't take years lah. that's encryption. if encryption, depends on the encryption level(128bit, 256bit, etc). even so, clusters computer can crack it in a rather short time. time for 512bit encryption n we wait for ET intelligences to cracks them for us.
