Everwonder what computer is used to produce the amazing effects in Star Wars: Episode III? It is not Intel nor Apple, it is AMD!

The leading-edge reliability and unprecedented power of AMD64 technology-based computer systems allowed George Lucas to invent an entirely new and more efficient way of movie making on Revenge of the Sith.
Working with the digital artists at production company JAK Films, Lucas used AMD64-powered systems to direct real-time 3-D assets in an uninterrupted creative flow in everything from designing galaxies and futuristic cities to choreographing action sequences that take place at hyper-speed.
With AMD64 technology, the JAK Films team was able to complete sequences during sessions with Lucas in a matter of hours that once went back and forth for weeks.

yea, AMD is a pretty powerful processor used by many movie producer..:)

I thought Intel is better in 3D producing, well, maybe I need to change the idea now. :)

Hmmm it seems like AMD is getting more and more powerful. Ive used AMD for the pass years and someting bad about it is, computer will slow down if the heat temp gets really high.

about the heat, now Intel and AMD are almost same heat. Intel chips is higher heat.

doesn't this mean anything at all? it's pre-rendered stuff, the output is the same no matter what cpu you use, as long as it can churn numbers, it can even run on 486 cpu from ten years ago, if you doesn't mind the time it takes. the star wars is just too much commercial value, its image promotes everything possible, from the breakfast cereal with little action figure that comes with it, to soft drinks with star wars logo on it, and now, it even promotes computer cpu. what's next? underwear?
