BEIJING (Hollywood Reporter) – Less than 24 hours after the English edition of the latest Harry Potter book went on sale in China’s capital on the weekend, the full text of the 672-page tome was available for free on the Internet as an unauthorized e-book, the Beijing News reported on Wednesday.
The Shui Mu Tsing Hua bulletin board service posted the full text of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” on Sunday, according to the Chinese language daily.

Can you imagine that they actually convert the 672 pages into digital format(ebook) in only 24 hours?! *bows to China piracy*

I guess somebody get the book earlier than the official release date and convert it with help of optical character recognition software. Note that the ebook is available for free download, they don’t charge/earn anything from it!

I believe holding the real book is more enjoyable than staring at computer screen. Get the real book: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Book 6)

The chinese OCR'D version had many errors. The one released later, done by IRC groupies, is more accurate. I've downloaded one and had it compared to the book: it's real. exact word by word, although there are still ocr errors everywhere. Pirated releases help people like us, who live in semi remote places. The local bookshop where I live hasn't even recieved the shipment of books, and it's been what? 5 days since the release. They expect it to arrive by the end of the month, least. And they'll sell it for RM99.90. -_-| THAT'S TOTALLY RM 10 MORE THAN THE SUGGESTED SELLING PRICE !@#$%^&*

I think it is better buy one for yourself at bookstore. We must appreciate other people works. People tooks months or years to just finish the book but you download it for free with a single click ... It will be hurt if you are the author. I was thinking to buy one too, probably this or next weekend :)
