You have some big size files want to share with your family and friends over Internet, but can’t find a free file hosting? Try RapidShare, the free and unlimited file hosting site.

I had introduce another free file hosting — YouSendIt at last year. Though YouSendIt let you upload very big size file(1GB), but it only keeps your file for a week.

If you want to host your file for a longer period, try RapidShare.

Features of RapidShare

Unlimited uploads
Unlimited downloads
Any file type is allowed
File hosted forever (will delete files that have not been accessed for 30 days or longer.)
50 100MB per file allowed
FREE!

It seems too good to be true? Yeah… the limitation is on downloader side…

Downloader Limitations

does not support download accelerators(flashget, getright, etc)
cannot resume broken downloads
hourly-based traffic-limitations
downloads does not start instantly (needs to wait few seconds) *Read on for the wait time hack!
One download allowed at at time

You can clear the limitations by upgrading to Premium account(paid).

Crack RapidShare Wait Limit

For free account, the RapidShare download does not start immediately. However, we can crack the time limit and start download right away! Read “Crack RapidShare Wait Time Limit“

Thought:

Though there are limitations for downloader, it will not cause much problem. Your family and friends still able to get your shared files.

Bonus tip: Search for RapidShare’s uploaded files, goto Google and use this search string: keywords rapidshare.de/files

another alternative is using the gmail drive. you can store large files on the drive and save it to your computer folder. but the downside is that is that your friend must have a gmail drive too, so that you can use the software (gmail drive) to access the files in the drive.

anyway gmail drive is good for me to use between my house and office PC.

i personally prefer usingfilecloud over any of the mentioned solutions. it is a more permanent solution for sharing large files (especially those that will get tons of traffic). they have a very impressive permissions system as well for privately sharing files between users.

Filecloud is for game files only? Filecloud required registration before you can upload file, and free account is only 25MB space.

Correct me if I am wrong. :)

Awesome deal. Sounds great, but I probably won't use it because I have plenty of bandwidth. But if I need to host bigger files, 40mb+, then I'll probably use a service like this. Thanks for the tip =)

yeah file factory is great but there is some japanese one that is supposedly better..... i wish i could remember the name

its free and damn useful
they provide a max of 100mb per file and the file will be alive for 90 days
they also provide encryption(password encryption) for files.

It gives free 50MB max upload size and it keeps ur files forever. Also, it hasnt got hourly limit like rapidshare does.

There's something much better guys, if you go to FileFront.com they have unlimited space and bandwidth to files, and it's all free. No waiting around, no bs. Check them out ! The direct link to their file hosting service can be accessed here.

Another good file hosting/sharing service is http://www.bigupload.com I store my file there for 4months,my school community also use it to share video files. Its has 300Mb file upload limit, fast ISP connection(Time Warner backbones).

Try www.mofile.net. They are like Rapidshare, but, I think better and easy to use. Enjoy!

imageshack is image hosting, rapidshare is file hosting. they are different.

offer 5GB space.. free.. and ofcourse unlimted download.. and no deletion of ur files what soever. Plus u can give make groups, or make the file public or even completely private..

I think its the best one ever. even better than xdrive..
