Mozilla ThunderBird 1.5 Beta 1

I do not know how can I miss it! Here you are, the Mozilla ThunderBird 1.5 Beta 1. It is released few days after Firefox 1.5 Beta 1. Some of the new features of ThunderBird 1.5 are automated update, spelling check as you type, better spam filtering, podcast and RSS improvements, stability and security enhancements.

Sorry, I have not tried it yet. I do not wish to mess up my emails with a beta version. If you are using the Thunderbird 1.5 beta 1, please share your experience.

  • I updated to Thunderbird v1.5 Beta just a few hours before you blogged this. I updated all for the "auto fowrard otpion in message filter" option. I needed that feature in my email client. Had suffered for quite some time now after as Thunderbird never had that simple feature.

    Believe it or not, I think the beta is more stable. I have gigs of mails. Thunderbird 1.0 takes quite a while to load up and then for it to be browsed takes some time too. Thunderbird 1.5 runs just faster and smoother, even with the same amount of emails to handle.
