Create your free WordPress.com account

Install Flock.
Open your Flock browser and visit http://www.wordpress.com/flock/.
Fill in the form and click the “Sign up” button to submit it.
Done. You will get your WordPress.com account information in your mailbox.

My two cents

The WordPress.com free account registration page is only accessible using Flock browser (another reason to install Flock?).

If you are looking for a free and good blogging platform, I highly recommend that you try out WordPress.com. WordPress.com is a free blog hosting platform powered by the award-winning WordPress blogging script.

It is cool that when most are using blah.blogspot.com, you are using YourName.wordpress.com.

Yes, we cannot edit the templates on wordpress.com yet.

I've been surfing the net and found that some sites powered by wordpress.com has changed/edit its template. I don't really know how did they do it. Examples: http://scobleizer.wordpress.com/ , http://derek.wordpress.com/. If anyone here really know how, share your tips with us. Thanks.

Matt edited the templates for Scoble, because he moved to wp.com, and he's a famous blogger...

and the other guy, he just used the header generator for the default theme, everyone has it..

Wordpress.com currently down? I remember reading on some other blog a while ago that the guy who gave Wordpress.org his own domain wordpress.com was not happy about them not doing something he asked them about and so he was planning on taking the domain back from them - wonder if that's the case? If so all the blogs that were hosted there would probably be lost? Don't really want to spread rumours but i just cant remember or find that link now....
