Microsoft is testing next generation of web mail service, code named “Kahuna”. It is expected to replace current Hotmail in the first half of 2006.

Kahuna Mail beta 3 panes view

What’s New?

  • Build by latest web technogies (AJAX, DHTML, etc).
  • Outlook-like three vertical panes user interface
  • Support items drag & drop, right click menu
  • Auto-completion of contact names when writing a new email

Thought

Personally I do not like three panes vertical view. I think it is user interface designed for wide screen users. Anyway, I have never a Hotmail user. :P

yahoo rocks...There's actually alot of difference between mail providers. Used to like hotmail but it doesnt give much. First of all it's 2mb, even using US account 250mb is not sufficient. But the worst thing is... you try to log in to your account and open multiple windows for each mail. It DOESNT WORK with HOTMAIL...dat's why it's really lame. I guess currently the battle is between Google and Yahoo. Yahoo is the best choice for now, with its rss reader ready.
  • erm.. yeah.. its 3 panel view asnt very good..
  • It's realy intersting.
  • Yahoo!Mail rocks from long time ago, eventhough it's abit old-fashion now. Still, I like it!! ;)
  • Good to hear it. , because the old one realy ***.. hehe..

need to check wether its support pop3 for free or not..
previously hotmail doesnt give pop3 service for free account.

  • WTJ is right. My first intention of quiting from Hotmail, was because of its snail loading.

Now, the big ones are all moving to Ajax liao
