Even your domain name registration date is important for Google. Recently registered domains submitted to Google will go into a sandbox and sit there for months before it can get decent rankings in the Google index.

There are lots of factors – Google, Yahoo, MSN all have different criteria. I notice their search results have taken different directions over the last 2 years…. used to be yahoo & msn would throw out similar results to Google.
