Maxis has became the first mobile operator in South-East Asia to have 3.5G facility. 3.5G offer download speed up to 14 Mbps and 1.8 Mbps upload speed, it is much faster than 3G’s 384 Kbps (download) / 64 Kbps (upload).

My two cents

3.5G sounds great. But how many people have using 3G before? If you check Maxis 3G coverage area, you get only few small dots in Malaysia. My hometown is not even covered by EDGE network yet. Shouldn’t Maxis consider expanding the 3G coverage area first? Note that current 3G mobile phone is not compatible to 3.5G.
