Malaysia-Gmail

Not long ago, Google Gmail opened for free sign up via mobile phone but restricted to U.S residents only. Now Google has expanded free Gmail sign up to Asia!

The chosen Asian countries are Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand, and Turkey.

If you are from one of these countries and own a mobile phone, you can sign up a free Gmail account at Google Gmail SMS signup page. You will get an invitation code via SMS to register your Gmail account.

Info: Gmail is Google’s free webmail service with more than 2GB mail storage space (and increasing). If you haven’t get your Gmail account and not from the listed countries, you may get a free Gmail invitation from me.

Thanks to Albert for the news.

My two cents

Till today, I gave away over 800 Gmail invitations. I guess Gmail will become completely free for sign up (no more invitation required) on April Fool 2006 (Gmail was launched on 1st April). Sign up via mobile phone is to limit the number of Gmail accounts for each person.
