Bon Echo - Firefox 2 Alpha 2Mozilla has released the Firefox 2 Alpha 2, code name “Bon Echo“. There are several new features in the version.

Feature highlights:

  • Close tab button on browser tab. This could be installed using a Firefox extension since long time ago, but it is the first time it is integrated in Firefox by default. Only highlighted tabs will show the close tab button.

What’s next?

A “Safe Browsing” feature will be added into Firefox 2. Firefox 2 beta will have new icons, mass tab handling, and tab close undo. Firefox 2 may be released in October 2006.

My two cents

My simple wishlist of Firefox features: Faster browsing speed and less memory usage (especially on OS X).
