Here is latest update on that post. The Public Bank processing has been updated.
OLD: 2% of the cheque (min: RM20, max: RM100)
New:

  • 0.1% of cheque amount (min: RM20, max: RM100)
  • Postage: RM5
  • Stamp duty: RM0.15

    I tried banking in USD 60++ in Standard Chartered. The bank charges are RM 60, followed by RM 30 to withdraw from the foreign bank. The friendly officer returned my check instead, saying that after all the bank charges & conversion, I'd have nothing left. I'd be lucky if I didn't OWE the bank any money in return!
  • So far, I still think BCB is the best to deposit foreign cheque. Of all the experiences I got, they only deducted RM10 from my total cheque amount deposited.
  • Yup I concur. Stanchart sucks when it comes to foreign bank cheque processing fees. Same for Hong leong.

    Last time i bank-in 1 money order from US, it take around 3-4 month to process it and when i show to counter, they ask me what is this ....

    Their exchange rate also rate, give me RM3.60 per USD although that time is around RM3.70+ per USD ...

    @aHfUi: it takes about a month to clear foreign check.
  • Bank Muamalat is still the lowest, RM5 for processing fee.

  • BCB the best la, Public Bank charge so dam freakin expensive, 2%?? Long ago BCB already 0.1%. I just pray to God that AdSense faster implement direct bank-in just like Australia.

  • I've paid MayBank thousands of ringgit in service charges.. not anymore since I switched to BCB last year.
  • I use BCB for years, and am quite satisfied. 3-4 weeks is standard and probably won't change anytime soon..
  • I use Southern Bank to clear adsense check....they charge flat rate of RM30 per check. Quite fare and it will take no more then 3 weeks to clear the check....so never longer then.
