I discovered that TMNet official website has Google AdSense ads. Does TMNet make money with Google AdSense too?

Tmnet website with AdSense Ads

The AdSense publisher ID is “4346814396628873″. Not sure if it is belongs to TMNet or the webmaster.

The AdSense ad is a 125×125 button and placed on the bottom of the sidebar. I would suggest them to use a small rectangle (180×150) to better fit the sidebar width. :P

My two cents

I don’t think that placing ads on corporate website is appropriate. It gives an impression that the company is supported by ads. Plus, the current ad placement and format does not make money.

  • I visited TMNet website and saw adsense too.

It was the webmaster trying to pull a fast one. Told to take down the ads immediately.
  • I think that they want to make extra money. Similar to NIOSH forum which placing adsense too.
  • maybe they are just trying it out for the short term. Considering the zillions they make from their monopoly practices, Adsense is definitely not a worthwhile consideration. Better focus on their core business and improve service.

@lai: StarOnline is belongs to a publishing company, a different business model. Publishing companies make revenue from advertisements. TMNet is a service provider.

poor TMNet.. don't have enough money to upgrade network and then used adsense to earn some money
  • Adsense on TMNet? Ha ha! They owned the ENTIRE Malaysian Communications and Internet Infrastructures, for heaven's sake! Thehehe...

btw, I saw TMNet adsense ads on TMNet website. ;)
  • i would suppose that it is from the webmaster....it is stupid...because they almost monopoly the broadband world...they don't have to worry about competitor buying adword
  • Hehehehe. I hope their Adsense Ads Revenue can help to fix my slow Streamyx home connection in some ways... LOL.
  • Ha ha ... not as if they are already making enough money from their services. I wonder what prompted them to do this? hmmm maybe WangInternet is right...might just be some sneaky webmaster...who's going to resign soon or something.
  • It's probably just another way to monetize their website. But TMNet need to consider if it's worth it for their visitors to leave their site for a few cents which will provide a site exit to their visitors :)

Or maybe it could be a sneaky work by the web master just like how I wanted to place adsense codes on my wife's company website! Will probably do that only when I want her to get fired! Haha.
