google analytics also can check on link clicks. I have install a goal for google analytics to track adsense clicks as well.

somehow it is not so easy to analyse the stats

I like the heatmap because it gives me an instant overview. The analytics/statcounter report takes time to read

Ya.. the only problem is that Crazyegg is not sitewide. I only use it to test front page and single pages only.

I do, however, I don’t really find much purpose for the heatmap yet.

As for tracking links, Analytics and Statcounter already tell me which pages are visited and from where.

As you mentioned above CrazyEgg is per page and not sitewide, hence restricting its usability.

How have you been using the Heatmap?
