Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 Won CNET 2007 Antivirus Editors’ Choice

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 won the CNET editors’ choice in the CNET 2007 antivirus performance test scores.

“Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 is light and fast and consistently wins detection awards against the competition”

Other tested antivirus software are NOD32, Norton AntiVirus 2007, and McAfee VirusScan Plus 2007.

CNET editor comments that Norton AntiVirus 2007 improved some over last year. McAfee VirusScan Plus 2007 added a firewall but no improvement. NOD32 is good but more suitable for advanced users.

My two cents

Beside antivirus performance, the speed and memory usage are important too. Some antivirus are bulky and take up a lot of system resources.

Normally, I would recommend AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic or AVG to my friends because they are FREE. :)

  • norton sucks up all your resources. NOD32's good.
  • I would recommend the AVG from grisoft..it is reliable and FREE..besides, we can update it manually by downloading the update file. :-)
  • I use AVG too, light and effective. Most popular antivirus software is the most dangerous since virus writer will always test new virus with those softwares.
  • I strongly reccomend Active Virus Shield: It's made from Kaspersky in collaboration with Aol. The good think it's that AVS has got Kaspersky Engine but (unfortunately) hasn't got so many functions like Kaspersky.

    Last but not least it's free :)

    Avast Antivirus is as good as AntiVir and it's FREE too plus I also use it.

    I bought Kaspersky (Internet Sevurity 6.0) for 1 year's protection of my Vista notebook. I did a scan today and found that it was not compatible.Would you pls kindly assist.Awaiting your reply.

    @Robert: you need to use Kaspersky 7.0 that support Windows Vista.
