Dell to Offer Ubuntu Linux Operating System

UbuntuWith the new partnership of Canonical and Dell, soon you can order a Dell desktop or notebook with pre-loaded Ubuntu Linux operating system.

The Dell-Ubuntu computers will be shipped with Ubuntu 7.04 (codename: Feisty Fawn). It is the most user-friendly Ubuntu to date and includes Windows migration assistant, wireless networking support and improved multimedia support.

If you wanna try Ubuntu, you can get Ubuntu by online download, buy Ubuntu on CD, or request FREE Ubuntu CDs.

    @iCalvyn: ya, I think you mean the LiveCD which allow us to run Linux without installing any file to computer. Many Linux distros have LiveCD version, try The LiveCD List
  • FWIW, Dell will sell you a Desktop unit with no OS (well FreeDOS) preloaded. I ordered one as I already had an unused copy of XP Pro from my old dead PC.
