WordPress 2.2.1 is a Required Upgrade

WordPressWordPress 2.2.1 has been released to patch bugs in version 2.2 and fixes some security issues. It is a required upgrade for WordPress blogs.

Some highlighted bugs among the full list of bugs fixed:

  • ATOM feed validation fixes
  • XML-RPC fixes
  • Widget backward compatibility fixes
  • Widget layout fixes for Internet Explorer 7
  • Page and Text Widget improvements

Here are the security vulnerabilities addressed:

  • Remote shell injection in PHPMailer
  • Remote SQL injection in XML-RPC
  • Unescaped attribute in default theme

Using WordPress 2.2 and do not want to do a full upgrade? You can replace only the changed files since version 2.2. Download the latest WordPress.
