With fiber optic, the US is now enjoying 4MB per/sec internet speed (lowest) and 11MB per/sec (highest) with low monthly subscription ($40/month) and word has it that they are moving towards 20MB per/sec next year in January with still low monthly rate...If Malaysia is now to upgrade to a proper fiber optic..then, I do hope it will not affect the monthly charges...by far, Malaysia's internet service is the most expensive in comparison to the other countries...hahha..1MB is not fast...streamyx is not fast...1MB is a laughing stock for internet users around the world..they call it internet connection using string attached to a pole...and yes, the solution is to move to a neighbouring countries where internet service is way 10 times better! if this is THE fiber optic that we are talking about now, I hope that our broadband situation will be improving much much better!
