Google crawls the web for over 4500 English-language news sources including many leading Malaysian publications. Through multiple signals, their automated system can tell which articles are of high interest to Malaysians and all related articles will then be grouped into one "story" on Google News. The articles that are original in content (ie. not a press release or syndicated article) will be shown first, so that users will get the freshest, analytical content from multiple viewpoints on a "story". When a user clicks on the link, they will be directed to the publisher's online site, thereby driving more traffic to the publisher to monetize.
