Maxis Announced Apple iPhone 3GS in Malaysia

MAlaysians, your waiting is almost over! Maxis has announced Apple iPhone 3GS today! It will be available in late July, 2009.

Here is the email I received:

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 9 July 2009: Maxis Communications Berhad (‘Maxis’) today announced that it will bring iPhone 3GS to Malaysia later this month. Customers who wish to register their interest in iPhone 3GS from Maxis may visit the Maxis website at www.maxis.com.my/iphone3gs. More information will be released at a later date.

No information on exact release date yet, nor the pricing.

So, we can expect to see the new iPhone 3GS at the coming Pikom PC Fair 2009(II) at August, 2009?

If you are interested on iPhone 3GS, you can now register yourself and get notified once it is available.

Update: Rumors says it could be RM3,500. I wish it’s not the truth.

  • Maxis is one ridiculous company as far as I'm concerned.

  • I can buy two Nokia 5800 and still have some spare change to buy two pairs of really good sony earphone at RM199 each.

    iPhone 3G S is ridiculously expensive. The funny thing about Apple is, they have the opportunity to dominate the world, yet the choose not to. Imagine all of their hardware are 30% cheaper.

    Go for Nokia 5800, HTC, BlackBerry or Samsung Omnia.
  • I don't like Maxis one.

    It always provide the lousy service for me and then the prices among the others company, it were too high.

    iPhone 3G, it is can not popular in Malaysia, because it is too expensive and not need to buy such things.

    Because the Nokia handphones, it already provide the best handphone we have one.
  • Crazy price. It should not be that high. I heard the price will be around RM2700, but it's not confirmed yet.
  • Just travel down to Singapore and buy one. There is something call parallel import as well.

    Ridiculous!
  • With the crazy price and force bundle with access or package, it is definitely not my choice. With this price, I could buy a notebook and a handphone for more fun at work too.
