First Day of MCAD Training
Filed in: Life Log — July 20th, 2004
It was my first day of MCAD Training. This week is studying “Programming with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET”. It is interesting!
I planned to woke up at 7am, so that we(dh and I) can arrive earlier for registration, but I woke up at 7:30am. Almost overslept!
The training centre is located at Amcorp Tower, Taman Jaya. We can’t find it, we arrived Putra Taman Jaya LRT station. It was our first time be there and both of us forgot to save the training centra’s office number in our phones! Urgh! Lukily GuoLiang’s baking institute is also in Taman Jaya. I called him for the direction. Hey, it is just beside the LRT station! Heh!
Finally, we reached the training centre at 8:55am. The receptionist is very friendly. She was quite surprised that we are from Johor. I guess she is from Johor, too.
Everyone will get a box of study material, inside are workbook, eLearning CD and student materials CD. The workbook are a set of A4 papers(more than 1KG!), not really a book as I thought. It reminds me about the college notes last time but this one is printed on A4 paper with Microsoft watermark. Looks a bit kewl lah~
There are total 7 students in our class. One from Maxis, three from an IT company(forgot the name), Daniel from another IT company in Sabah, dh and me. There are two pretty gals in our class. I am quite surprised about that. The trainer is David, a young and handsome guy.
Daniel is 30+ guy from Sabah. He looks young and big size. He is very friendly. I feel very comfortable to talk with him, just like talking to my elder brother. Daniel is self-employee, he was using Visual FoxPro to write softwares and considering to migrate to VB.NET.
Among all, only dh and me are registered on personal, and only both of us will take the Microsoft certification exam. Others are just come to learn more about VB.NET.
I think we are quite biah.
First day class is only introduction on .NET, Visual Studio .NET interface, different between VB 6 and VB .NET, etc. I still can handle those but I need to refresh my memory about VB 6.
There are three break time in a day(9am to 5pm): breakfast, lunch and tea break. Breakfast and tea break are served. Quite nice. We have to settle our lunch in the Amcorp Mall, it cost more than normal. Today Daniel join dh and me for lunch. After lunch, we almost can’t find the way to go back Amcorp Tower. It is funny that three big guys lost their way in shopping mall.
The first day teached three modules out of evelen modules. However, we still end the class earlier. dh and I went to LowYat Plaza after that.
Thought
I have better understanding on .NET, am looking forward to develop something useful using the new technology. ![]()
