Microsoft Announces Release of Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005

REDMOND, Wash. — Aug. 25, 2004 — Microsoft Corp. today announced availability of the Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 operating system, the successor to Windows XP Tablet PC Edition introduced in November 2002. Included as part of Microsoft® Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Windows XP SP2) with Advanced Security Technologies, this free upgrade offers Tablet PC users deeper pen-and-ink support including a redesigned input panel to create and enter text anywhere within Windows XP and familiar Windows XP-compatible applications.

Thought:
It is great and easy to share events among family or friends. But I wonder how many of my friends heard about RSS and know how to read it… more education needed.

TARC1999 Genting Trip 2004

Later in the morning I will goto Genting Highland with my collegemates. It is the second time we goto Genting Highland for our annual trip - TARC1999 Genting Trip 2004 (TARC1999 is our community group name).

Why Genting Highland again? Well, because one of the member has shares of Genting Highland, every year he will get some bonus coupons. Besides, Genting Highland is nearer(1 hour) and easier(traffic) to most of us.

This year we have 12 members, included 2 couples inside. Unlike last year, this time I go without gf… Anyway, the newspaper’s today horoscope says I(Leo) have high chance to meet my dream girl!

Anti-Bush Political Site Subscribers Exposed by Google

Subscribers to MoveOn.org’s mailing lists may have found recently that their interest in the anti-Bush political site was a matter of public record.

A Web page misconfiguration left dozens of the liberal political group’s subscriber pages easily searchable through simple Google queries. Each page included a subscriber’s name, e-mail address and the mailing lists to which he or she is subscribed. CNET News.com confirmed that several searches turned up more than two dozen individual subscriber pages.

Nasa Powers Up With Supercomputer

Project Columbia, a collaboration with two technology giants, will mean Nasa’s computing power will be ramped up by 10 times to do complex simulations.

It will be one of the world’s biggest Linux-based supercomputers.

The new supercomputer will help the agency model flight missions, climate research, and aerospace engineering.

The system will have 500 terabytes of storage, the equivalent of 800,000 CDs. It will use the might of 10,240 Intel Itanium 2 processors for complex computer simulations.

Nasa said the supercomputer will help patch holes in its computing power limitations that were highlighted following the Columbia shuttle disaster in which seven astronauts were killed.
