ImageShack Just Got Better!
Filed in: Web — September 5th, 2004

My favorite image hosting service - ImageShack is even better now! It supports personal file management now!
Though you need to register to use the file management system, the registeration is very simple — just fill in your email address twise, and a a confirmation email will send to you. Done!
Here are benefits to register:
- Keep track of all the images you ever upload.
- Get image code for your images with the click of a button.
- View statistics for all your images, such as image size and time uploaded.
- Have the ability to delete and undelete your images!
- upload multiple images by utilizing the Zip upload feature!1
- Registration is absolutely free!
Note:
- 1 Need to pay to get ImageShack credits.
- You are NOT required to register. No registeration image hosting is still available.
Tip:
The ImageShack file management system use cookies to keep track of your account. It is advisable to bookmark your account by clicking “Bookmark Images Panel” link. For non-IE user, you need to view page source(near top of the code) to get the URL of your account. It looks something like this:

Did I mention ImageShack is Free and allow Unlimited image uploads, as long as the filesize under 1MB and support .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, and .swf(flash)? ![]()

does imageshack has this feature of sharing photos? you know,
kind of like sony imagestation, where one can create albums, then
share the album by inviting friends. sony imagestation can do that
but problem is the person who get the invitation has to sign up
as a member, which put off many people, to view the album.
i notice my favourite image hosting service, photobucket, had not
too long ago started this sharing photo feature but then it does
not have creating album feature as good as sony’s imagestation.

How about the bandwidth or whatsoever?

Louyau-mike: if all you want just to host your images for free, i recommend imageshack. Photobucket is nice but imageshack has better offer on bandwidth, filesize and upload limit. Zorpia is more than a image hosting site (i dislike its point system, anyway)
lucia: web-a-photo can invite friend to see your album without register. Webshots provides a album link that you can tell your friends. Webshots album will be public, I am not sure it has private album or not.
Jlim: there is NO bandwidth limit NOR upload size limit.

wow, this ought to be interesting. Sorry for a last question - but you mean the pictures I upload would remain forever on a particular site then?
Thanks LcF.

Jlim: images that have not been accessded(load) in a year will be deleted.
