Crossbrowser Shortcut Tags for MovableType Editor
Filed in: Weblog — October 14th, 2004
Though I am not Movabletype(MT) user, but I am quite surprised to found that MT entry editor’s shortcut buttons(B, i, u, URL) are not crossbrowser compatible. It does not display when you are using Firefox!

*Thanks Reallybites.net for pointing the issue and the screenshots.
Anyway, I found a crossbrowser solution that works on both Mozilla and Internet Explorer(Theorically, any browser that support Javascript).
QuickTags — quicktag.js is Javscript that used in Wordpress for shortcut tags. Movalog.com borrowed the code and made Quick Tags for MovableType (screenshot). Please refer to the script homepage for the script implementation.

I’m using Firefox 1.0PR, and I have no problems with the buttons.
Maybe it’s the older Firefox browsers….

I am using 1.0PR as well. Maybe the problem only apply at older MT version.
