Jackie Chan's New Police Story (新警察故事)

Just watched Jackie Chan’s latest movie, “New Police Story” at Tuesday night with ex-housemate. I don’t really like Jackie Chan’s recent movies but after watched The Making of “New Police Story”, I speak to myself “I gonna watch it!”.

I never miss any Jackie Chan’s movies, before he started his career in Holywood. I am not sure it is due to his age(or my age?!) or the Holywood movie style, his last few movies do not attract me at all! Fortunely, the “New Police Story” brings back my Jackie Chan!

“New Police Story” is a new milestone of Jackie Chan’s Police Story series. It shows the truthly Jackie Chan style: action and entertaining.

The story is quite “special”, at least different than the normal police story. It has flashback at the beginning and the end of the movie. There are few scenes try to make you cry or touched, but failed on me(except the flashback at the ending…). In fact, the scene where Jackie Chan’s team members tied up in the sky and fall down one by one is quite disgusting(my friend said so). I don’t think it is suitable for kids. :???:
As usual, the whole story is surronding Jackie and talk less about the other characters. I wish it describe more about the different characteristics of the Gang of Five. Oh! Nicholas Tse and Charlene Choi(TWINS) are cute! :) “New Police Story” is Charlie Young’s first movie since 1997, but wasted…

After all, “New Police Story” worth for RM10 movie ticket.

Note: the “New Police Story” official website sucks! :???:

it’s a great movie, the plot is a little cliche but they pulled it off well
props to jackie chan for his great acting skills, i was impressed with this
funniest bit is the jail escape part, but i love the ending, can relate to that
how they field stripped the gun with one bullet in the chamber
and the guy giving jackie chan a smile before dechambering his bullet and pointing the empty gun at the police cordon, effectively killing himself…now, that’s the way to go out…he admitted his failure, weighted his options, and decided to go out that way. he’s a good guy, just a little messed up, that’s all…
and that’s how people like that should go out.

i watched the movie with a bunch of colleagues at the cinema.. i must say this is one heck
of a movie that JC have produced. Its totally different compared to the rest, where in this
one, he is putting on more emotions and for the first time, he is crying like a baby…
man.. talk about macho mincing man to crying machine… but overall i give this movie
two thumbs up!!! I luv the part where they were trying to escape from prison… way to go
for HongKie movie!! (note: this is one of the only movies I supported fully at the movies)
the rest of the hongkie movies, blah.. getting staler and staler…
