Something Wrong with Gmail Spam Filter

November 25th, 2004 | Category: Google | No Comments

I am surprised by Gmail today.

Usually, Gmail will filter spam mails forwarded from my old domain into the Spam folder, but today the filter doesn’t seems to work. I got A LOT of spam mails in Inbox! Perhaps they are maintaining the system and accidently let the spam mails slipped out? ;)

By the way, Gmail adds thumbnails for image attachments now. It is great! Now I can delete without open the some_weird_filename.jpg by previewing the image content!

HTMLArea3 XTD Does Not Work with Mambo SEO Feature (IE Only)

November 25th, 2004 | Category: Open Source | 3 Comments

I installed HTMLArea3 XTD to a Mambo website, it works great in Mozilla Firefox but my partner reports that Internet Explorer returns an error.

After some testing, I found that it is something to do with HTMLArea3. But, there is another site with the same version of HTMLArea3 XTD installed and works fine in both Firefox and IE?!

I check the site configuration one-by-one… Finally, it is caused by the SEO feature in Site -> Global Configuration. Say NO to “Search Engine Friendly URLs” and everything works fine in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Thought:
The SEO feature is great to make your Mambo site to be “Search Engine Friendly”. In order to use the great HTMLArea, we have no choice but to turn SEO feature off.

I believe we can edit the .htaccess file to solve the problem. Well, I am now exhausted…

Thought:
Personally I do not use Kazaa at all because it install A LOT of advertisement softwares along with it. If you are serious on Internet call, get Skype and use other ads free P2P software like LimeWire(new version support firewall to firewall transfer).
