With its quick scanning and multiple tools for stopping malware before it infects your computer, Spyware Doctor is a solid spyware remover. The well-designed interface makes getting started a breeze. The program can perform a number of scans, including Quick Scan, which blazes through common trouble spots such as IE cache files. We found scan times to be faster than its competitors, with even the Full System Scan taking under five minutes on our test machine. Spyware Doctor displays scan results clearly, showing file and registry locations, threat level, and a concise description of the threat. The results seemed thorough, and Spyware Doctor had no trouble removing what it had found.

Was looking for free and top rated spyware removal at Download.com that run on Windows 98/ME, I am quite surprised to find that Spyware Doctor win over the famous Ad-aware and Spybot-S&D in the list!

I decided to give the newly discovered spyware removal a try, I ran Spyware Doctor on a Pentium II with serious spyware problem.

Unlike Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware, the Spyware Doctor can install on Windows 9x without problem. I thought the beautiful user interface is for Windows XP, but I was wrong. It display the same on Windows 9x too!

Scanning is fast. It found 1004 spyware on the PC. One thing that impress me is that it displays detail information about every spywares found, including the describtion, risk level, spyware files and registry keys.

Spyware Doctor successful removed all except 27 spywares that need to remove on next boot time. After restart, it will run on boot time to scan and clean the leftover spywares.

I ran Adware and Spybot-S&D after the Spyware Doctor, they only manage to find a few registry keys that are detected by Spyware Doctor.

Note: The free version of Spyware Doctor ONLY can scan and remove spywares. The other features(OnGuard, Immunize, Real-time protection, etc) are only for paid version.

My two cents

Though free version of Spyware Doctor only scan and remove spywares, and does not have other add-on features but it is a good spyware removal. (Ad-aware also same, right?)

I install it to remove spywares on infected PC and uninstall it after it done its job.
