WYSIWYG: What You See Is What You Got

Previously I was using HTMLArea 3 XTD for a website powered by Mambo(ver 4.5.1). However, the image upload feature return “Direct access is not allowed” error when try to edit from the front page(without login Administrator panel). It is working fine if I login Administrator panel then return to the front page.

I think there is something missing on variables passing. Updated to the latest also return the same error. I decided to try other Mambo WYSIWYG HTML Editors.

TinyMCE-EXP is TinyMCE (http://tinymce.moxiecode.com) for Mambo, with additional plugins, including an Image Manager, File Manager and Advanced Link.

TinyMCE-EXP is the first editor I installed. I am very satisfied and do not try other editors! The cross browser support and image upload feature are my main concerns. TinyMCE-EXP done a good job on both. It works on both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox and has a great image manager.

Thought:
It is very important to have a friendly online editor for clients who are not familiar with HTML code. The online WYSWYG html editor make the webpage editing much easier, and features like image uploading is useful, even for experienced webmaster. :)

TinyMCE EXP is still beta, maybe it is not updated for 4.5.2 yet.
Since TinyMCE and TinyMCE EXP are installed in different folders. I don’t think they will conflict each other.

@marco: TinyMCE-EXP Admin only adds a TinyMCE-EXP options setting page in the Mambo Admin panel. It is optinal.

I am using 1.25 beta 1. For production website, I recommend ver1.24 as 1.25 still in beta testing stage.

I have downloaded the zip file for this at http://mamboforge.net/frs/?group_id=974 and its the last one at the bottom. I went to the mambot install and uploaded it and it said it was successfully installed. I went to global configuration and selected it but the editor doesnt show up. So you know why? What can i do to solve it?

    Im using mambo 4.5.2

    Sincerely,
    Faizan
