Filed in: Google — April 13th, 2005

Google Desktop is graduated from Beta, it is now final version. New features included search from deskbar and support more filetypes. Google Desktop support Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird now! For developers, you can also write your own plugin for Google Desktop. ![]()

Brief review:
Google Desktop still takes long time to index the files but the CPU load seems lower than beta version. Google Desktop will cache your visited website(even secured pages) and display screenshot thumbnails in search result. Too bad, it still does not display preview for image file.
Other Free Desktop Search Tools:
According to CNET Review, Copernic Desktop Search is the best among all.
