Taiwan PCHome Online Partner with Google
The popular Taiwan chinese web portal - PCHome Online announce the partnership with Google. It made a PCHome Google search site.

The PCHome Google search result looks like normal Google Adsense search(read: with ads), except that it also included PCHome’s own ads.

IT WORKS almost like a psychic, only this time it’s scientific. Researchers say they can read a person’s deepest thoughts using a simple brain scan.

A newly developed computer programme can interpret Magnetic Resonance Imaging used to scan people’s brains to reveal what types of images they have recently seen, say scientists at ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories in Kyoto (Japan) and Princeton University in the US.

Nokia N91 - Buid-in Hard Drive Music Phone

Nokia today officially announced the N91 which was shown in spy shots earlier this week. It’s a high-end music phone with a built-in hard drive. The case is made out of steel, like the 8801.

Features of the Nokia N91 include:

  • 4GB hard drive
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Line-in for recording
  • Bluetooth
  • WCDMA/WiFI/USB

Playback time for the music side of the phone is 12.5 hours. Supported music formats include MP3, M4A, AAC and WMA. Look for the Nokia N91 in the fourth quarter. Pricing is unknown.

Nokia High-end N90 Camera Phone

Nokia N90

Nokia has announced the N90, a high-end camera phone with Carl Zeiss optics. The twist-style phone features two displays and a lot of extras:

  • 352 x 416 pixel main display
  • Bluetooth
  • 2 megapixel autofocus camera with flash and video capture
  • 31MB memory plus RS-MMC slot (64MB card included)
  • GSM 900/1800/1900, EDGE and WCDMA

The Nokia N90 is slated to ship in the second quarter. Pricing was not announced.

Hong Kong Broadband Launches 1 Gbps Broadband

Hong Kong Broadband Network (HKBN) officially launched its 1 Gbps symmetric service for the residential market. Approximately 800,000 households, out of a total of 2.2 million households in Hong Kong, are wired to receive the service. The 1 Gbps symmetric service is priced at US$215 per month.

HKBN noted that its 1 Gbps service is up to 166x faster downstream and 1,950x faster upstream than the advertised bandwidth of the incumbent’s ADSL service.
