Planning for Wordpress Three Column Design
Filed in: Site News, WordPress — April 27th, 2005
Am planning to change Wordpress template into three columns design. As you can see now, the sidebar is quite full… Well, 1/3 sidebar space is generating weekly revenue for me.
What does it look like?
The 3 columns design I am planning is something look like Engadget and Gizmodo. The content column(most width) at the left hand side and two small columns at the right hand side.
Why 3 columns?
For frequent readers, you do not need to change your habit of reading(read from left hand side) and I probably separate ads and site content in the other two columns. One for ads, one for site content.
Isn’t it nice?
Looking for new skin
I am browsing for pre-made Wordpress 3 columns themes / templates. Remember? I am not a web designer. Anyway, I think I can tweak current WP1.5 default kubrick into 3 column template.
You have see LiewCF.com in the blue kubrick theme look since beginning of year 2004. Feel bored? An worse, Wordpress choosen it as default wordpress template. Arrgh!
Are you web designer?
If you are a kind web designer who want to show off your design on a popular blog site(here!), and able to create a clean, simple, beautiful and tableless(CSS) wordpress design(3 columns)… Please contact me.

Hmmm…. I’ve been trying to create a 3-column layout for Wordpress to do my company’s blog.
Problem is, my CSS is half-bucket-water and I dunno any PHP. In the end, I trashed my Wordpress installation and installed Blogger instead! Hahahha! Contact me if you wanna see my Blogger 3-column template. It’s a Header-3column-footer layout with no tables. The CSS should be the same, right?

I can whip one up for you.
When do you need it?
I’m free after June only though. Exam time now.
Even my blog is on hiatus

Mine’s 3-col all-CSS-no-tables as well. Validates summore! *LOL*
But for Blogger.com only, and I had to grep a a lot of the code from Ruthsarian Layouts.
(Err.. you will see *some* table tags but that’s for elements *within* the columns and not for the columns themselves.)
I’m not a CSS master.. just know enough to survive, and learning as I go along.
Cheers!
