Unreasonable Bus Fare Increased

Bus fare increased at unreasonable rate.
Location: Kluang, Johor.
My younger brother went out at last Sunday and come back by bus. He told us that the bus fare is increased. Normal rate is RM0.50 but new rate is RM0.70. It is a 40% increased!
That’s ridiculous!
Is it due to shortage of diesel? We are not sure about the excuse reason, 40% is just too high.

yes 1st may, we see many increase mind you - bus fares, taxi fares, penang ferry fares (which goes up 100%!!). i had blog on this matter a few times.
but i thought the bus fare increase if for express bus only, not stage bus? so i see, stage bus also increase eh. so sad.

It is that high… Get use to it then. But if my school bus fare increase, I’ll be death! It’s already RM80, increase 40%… You count it…

bus fare from Kluang to JB, originally at RM6.40, now RM7.50… sucks….

Everything keep on increasing, fuel,daily products,….blah blah. But one thing that not increasing is our salary haha!!!

I believe the average bus fare increased approved is about 25%. That would suggest increase from 50 sen to 62.5 sen. I’d guess they rounded that up to next highest 10 sens giving 70 sen.
The last bus fare was reported to be in year 2000. So that gives an increase of about 5% per year. That would be just about the inflation rate right, Liew CF ?

erm… 40% is bad, but few years ago the 100% bus fare raise in KL was much worse…

Bought a one-way ticket to KL = RM 19!
Old fare = RM 16…
Taiping to Ipoh already raised to RM6.45…seringgit mahal ma~
