I have win xp sp2 on my computer but it is not genuinecopy of microsoft.
So when i am try to install the I.E 7 or WMP 11 beta , that time it will ask me for the validation and after that the message which i get is your copy is not genuine.

So how i can overcome this problem????
Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a A+ Certfied tech and I have worked on a few Name brand computers that were store bought with XP pre-installed. When I ask the customers before I do the job which OS they have they didn’t even know what a Operating System is let only put in a pirated version of XP (YET!!!) MS validation tool says it is a pirated version. I also know a few geeks with extra computers and they don’t like the fact that they aren’t suppose to put XP in on more than one of their own computers without a bunch of crap from MS. MS makes most of its money with the deals they make with the computer manufactures as well as its Office programs for which they even make for Macs. If they keep this up more and more people will start to go with Linux without fear of it not passing their stupid tests.

All those having problems, you have to log-on as administrator to disable.

The Disabling trick is already cought up with my MS..

They just made ppl unable to enable/disable the Genuine Advantage thingy

We just have to wait for a new trick… it will take some time, but it will come !

what if in the Manage Add ons options, the settings to Disable or enable is blocked?
what i mean is that i cant select or deselect “disable”

As a reply to Miao Ying, I tried today and it still work. you have to press Go or press enter key first. But definitively, disabling the Add-ons is simpler

Here got another to update windows
IE–>tools ->manage add-ons–> add-ons that have been used by internet explorer
Find out “windows genuine advantage” and then choose “disable”.
After that, restart IE and you can update windows already.

Of course! MS is not the only genius in the world, A lot more out there are cleverer, just that they didn’t have the opportunity like BILL does!
