No More PPS Ping from LiewCF
Filed in: Site News — August 4th, 2005
Okay, I don’t ping Project Petaling Street anymore.
Why?
People complain about “adsense pings” from LiewCF.com. People say I blog solely for Google Adsense.
If you like my site content, please subscribe the the site feed or bookmark this site. Thank you very much!
P/S: I am still in PPS side bar, by the way. Ne~ ne~ neh!

Most people only read the top few pings anyway…have you guys tried lilina yet? RSS-based aggregator,so no more manual pinging for non-WP/MT users and a more standards-based kind of aggregating new blog content?

Aiz: no blog in PPS sidebar do pingging. I think it is time for me to stop pingging.

LcF: Not true, i ping PPS. Also, the PPS Blog (which will have its own sidebar soon) also ping PPS.
As Founders, if we don’t ping, then its almost like the manufacturer saying, “I don’t want to use my own product.” Cannot lah like that…

There really are certain blogs that are popular enough that they no longer need to ping PPS and still get a heck of a lot of visitors. LiewCF is one of them. There are some others who I think fits the criteria like JeffOoi, KennySia, minishorts and the underdog’s favourite viewtru.blogspot.com.

I used to ping every post to PPS. but I didn’t do it for some times as I found they don’t fit the PPS goal, “Content from Malaysia being Malaysia”. So for Liew, I would say if the post is regarding Malaysian, why don’t you ping PPS? Ya, I will ping PPS if I got some nice topics for Malaysian
Cheers…

Dude!
I hope it wasn’t my post that got you off. All I wanted to do was to highlight the commercial nature of some posts and yours fit the bill.
As long as the issue has not been settled and the decision of commercial blogs by Aiz hasn’t been made, there really is no reason why you shouldn’t ping mate.

oh for goodness sake.

Has commercialism consumed you? =P
I guess PPS should be democratic and I think this silliness about people complaining about this blog and that blog and making parody blogs is a whole lot of rubbish. If they are not interested in reading some blogs in the first place, why start an energy draining crusade to make a mockery of other people?

david: long time no see you comment in my blog.
Well, I rather class my blog as “commercial” and continue to blog whatever I like.

Because complaints, parodies and the likes are vital for an ecosystem to flourish. An ecosystem where free speech is allowed.
That’s what makes it interesting.

Malaysians are generally fickle-minded, why not start a new PPS & aim at Southeast Asian countries? Interested?

hey… ping ler. :p
ur ping-ing style is not like some others who would several entries everyday (aka not flooding the PPS). ur content is interesting and has the variety that i like.
i sure like PPS to be the place where I get to see ur latest entries; so if that decision has been made, don’t too, decide to remove urself from the sidebar

When i am productive, i do ping floods PPS too! LOL~
No worry, I still enjoy in the PPS sidebar.

[...] But now, winds of change are coming our way. In recent weeks, a few issues have hit PPS, but the three most important ones are blog throttling, commercial blogs and withdrawal from PPS by senior members. [...]
