I experienced something similar and for IT people whose life is about computers, its not the same. When you’re suddenly can’t use a computer, you just don’t know what else to do in the house. In most cases, you just end up watching TV.

noel: you are right. But beside watching TV, I read books too.

If you’re in JB, and your Applecare is still valid, then you have nothing to worry about. Just take the iBook to any Apple Centre in Singapore. You don’t even have to drive there if you don’t feel like it. Just take KTM (opposite Merlin Tower) and 20 minutes later you’d be in Sing Sing City. From there, you can take a bus straight to Funan, where there is an Apple Centre.

No problemo. I got a friend who also has an iBook (1GHz) which is secondhand, paid only SGD1200 almost 1 year ago. He was a staunch PC user but the Apple was too cheap to turn down. A few months after that he also had the same no video problem. Turned out it was the mobo. He took it to an Apple Centre and got a replacement FOC. This is why he swears by Apple now.

May be the logic board. Apple have a free replacement program - check their web site for details.
