Do You Believe Google PageRank?

Filed in: Google, SEO Beginner, Web — November 1st, 2005

Google updated their PageRank (PR) recently. I just discovered that my new blog — “Mac Switcher” is now at PR 5 (out of 10) ! Hey, the website is only one month old, with twenty-three posts!

Excited? No.

I am sure that I am not alone. I heard that a few webmasters have their new websites’ PageRank were boosted to PR5 as well.

My two cents

If websites can easily achieve high PageRank, then Google PageRank would be meaningless. In the end, nobody will care about it.

Maybe Google will correct their mistake later?

Anyway, though it is easy to get PR5 but it is very hard to get PR6 and above.

Yes, I’m agree with LcF. My blog in only 2 months old and I get PR5. This is unfair for them who work harder and longer but gets lower PR.

It is nice to have a high PR but I think it has not much effect in rankings by SEs.
I have a PR2 (6-month old + little incoming links) site but it is currently being ranked among the top 10 for “digital products” by Google. On the same page with Fujifilm.com, ClickBank.com and CNET.com.
