Google Base

Google has launched another beta service, Google Base, that lets you submit your contents to Google’s database.
What is Google Base?
Simply put, Google Base is a Google database. You can submit all your online or offline contents to it. Besides searchable in Google Base, your content may also be included in the main Google search index and other Google products like Froogle, Google Base and Google Local. It is another free service by Google.
Who should you use Google Base?
If you have some information to be shared with others, Google Base is for you, or if you have some products but you don’t have a website, Google Base can host them for you at no cost.

My two cents
Google Base looks like online classifieds to me, but you can submit almost anything to it. For some items, a 31 days listing period is applicable. Google Base’s attribute is similar to tags or keywords, which makes searching for similar items become easier.
Some people said that Google Base would become a competitor of Ebay if Google launches its own payment processing service. Before that actualizes, just treat Google Base as another way to expose your products to the world.
By the way, I found that spammers are already attacking Google Base. I saw a few items with fake messages (keywords), and redirecting you to spammer websites. Let’s see how will Google dealing with them.
