Filed in: Web, Weblog — November 3rd, 2005
“Cross Fire (针锋相对)” is a Singaporean talk show. The talk show discuss current hot topics in Singapore with their special guests. On October 24, 2005, Cross Fire’s topic was bloggers’ responsibility.
I missed the program. Fortunately, PinPin spent some of her time translating the whole transcript! *respect*
The invited guests were:
- Lawyer Lan Guo Qing (蓝国庆)
- Blogger Xia Xue (下雪)
- Radio Programme Producer Li Hui Min (李慧敏)

My two cents
Seems like XX is the best representative for Singaporean bloggers?
Based on my poor English skill, I learned that XX did not agree that bloggers should take responsibility for their blog contents. “If you do not like it, don’t come back.” But the lawyer strongly disagreed with XX.
I agree with the lawyer that weblogs are considered as a form of media. It has influential power. The author should be responsible for their blog contents.
I think the Malaysian government would agree with the lawyer too. Otherwise, our famous political bloggers wouldn’t have (almost) gotten themselves into trouble due to stupid blog comments.
